A great value Cabernet from California that works well for large gatherings or a weekday meal
Finding good Cabernet Sauvignon for decent value from California is exceedingly difficult. However, this is surprisingly good and serves as a great staple wine, but is also particularly good for larger gatherings. The availability of larger formats makes this easy to buy larger quantities for big gatherings. Also, the flavors are basic but smooth and overall well balanced, making this an approachable wine for a wide audience. Overall, this is a punchy Cabernet with notes of heavy black fruits and vanilla. Although this is not a very complex wine, it certainly does its intended job well. This pairs well with food, especially red meats, bold flavor charcuterie boards, BBQ meats, and smoked meats.
