2020 Grange of Prince Edward Pinot Noir

2020 Grange of Prince Edward Pinot Noir “The Helping Hand”

A disappointing Pinot Noir that misses the mark

This Pinot Noir attempts to be a bright and fruit forward example from an emerging wine region in Ontario. However, this one misses the mark. Notes of red cherries, cranberry, and vanilla are on the nose, but they are hiding behind a "funky” barnyard. We confirmed through multiple bottling, this was not cork taint, they all had a "funk” to them. The palate is a bit redeeming, with nice flavours of cherries, strawberry, and cranberry. The "funk” seems to only be on the nose. Overall this is an ok wine, but there are so many other great examples of Pinot Noir from Prince Edward County, as well as much better wines from this winery, that we suggest avoiding this one.
